Healthwatch Central West London is currently working with its Local Committee to submit a response to the Digital-First Primary Care Policy: consultation on patient registration, funding and contracting rules.

The NHS Long Term Plan aims to offer a “digital first” option for most service users, as part of its strategy for developing and delivering health services over the next ten years.

The “digital first” option would mean introducing more digital tools for clinicians, practice staff and patients to use, with the aim of making the delivery of primary care services more efficient. The Digital First primary care policy commits that every patient in England will have access to digital GP services.

This document describes proposals to reform patient registration, funding and contracting rules. It sets out options and proposals for reform and invite views.

Healthwatch Central West London will share its response to the consultation upon its completion. The consultation closes on Friday 23 August 2019.
