Meet our volunteers

Alex Weston

Young Healthwatch Coordinator

I'm Alex, and I coordinate Young Healthwatch. I'm passionate about making sure young people's voices are heard in conversations around mental health services, and I want to make sure young people have access to the support they need.

If you're thinking of joining Young Healthwatch and want to find out if it's right for you, send me an email - I'd love to hear from you!

“You give so many people a voice and while you are a volunteer for Young Healthwatch Westminster, you can get things on your CV that will be beneficial for the rest of your life, and you somehow still make it fun and engaging.”

“I believe that focusing on what makes you happy, whatever form that may take, is the best thing you can do for your mental health. By volunteering with Young Healthwatch, I have been able to share my own experiences and help other people my age to speak openly about their mental health issues.

Through Young Healthwatch I get to meet so many new people and engage in interesting discussions on mental health. I have developed so many valuable skills throughout my time so far.”

We have 7 other active volunteers as of September 2021

"Young Healthwatch was fantastic because I was able to get to know other people and learn about the factors affecting health. We also got to do some really fun activities which meant we saw the different mediums to use in order to inspire conversations regarding feelings."

I care a lot about Healthwatch. I just wanted to say that it has been a real pleasure working with you and the team, and I have learnt a huge amount in my time with you. I will stay in contact.”
