As part of a new education initiative Imperial college Healthcare Trust are running a series of teaching events on Quality Improvement(QI). The project aims to increase engagement of front line staff with Quality Improvement, so that those who are best placed to identify potential areas for improvement have the confidence and skills to effect change. Within their hospitals they are hoping to harness these QI skills to improve discharge processes for patients in North West London, and beyond.
They are running a number of design Sprints up until April next year. These are 2 day ‘Hackathon’ style workshops where healthcare staff, artists, engineers and patients and their carers come together to look at existing problems NHS hospital staff are facing and create solutions.
They are particularly looking for engaged patient representatives to share their experiences and perspective of the problems currently involved in the discharge process. This could be service users, volunteers or staff - anyone with an interest in Improvement Quality!
The next event is taking place on Thursday 27th to Friday 28th November and Thursday 15th to Friday 16th January 2014 – 9am to 5pm, at Imperial College’s Hammersmith Hospital - http://www.imperial.nhs.uk/hammersmith/ - West London, with refreshments and Lunch provided.
