Seminar - ‘Empowerment of patients through technology - benefits for society and patients’

The Danish Embassy in London is organising a free seminar titled ‘Empowerment of patients through technology - benefits for society and patients’ taking place at the Embassy on 20th November.

The seminar will be focusing on the challenges of the healthcare system, how reforms in Denmark have been changing the healthcare environment, the impact on the healthcare system and the need for digitalisation in this setting. The seminar will be relevant to a range of people including representatives of patient groups, clinicians, nurses, hospital managers, IT managers.

The speakers will include, among others:

  • Mr Claus Duedal, CEO Innovation at Odense University Hospital
  • Prof John Williams, Director of Health Informatics Unit at the Royal College of Physicians
  • Mrs Jane Jegind, Deputy Mayor at the City of Odense
  • Mrs Meg Hillier, MP for Hackney South and Shoreditch

The seminar will include four themes:

  • Theme 1: Patient satisfaction and empowerment through technology
  • Theme 2: Technology – improving quality of life for chronic ill patients
  • Theme 3: Home rehabilitation and empowerment through health sustainability
  • Theme 4: Integrated care – how to bind information flow together to optimise patient care

There will also be short presentations from selected companies providing an insight re how their solutions have been implemented and benefited Danish users including how these meet the demand for increased patient empowerment.
