From April 2013, Health and Wellbeing Boards have been responsible for producing and maintaining the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment for their area. A fully refreshed Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment must be produced by each Health and Wellbeing Board before 1st April 2015.
The Westminster Health and Wellbeing Board has now completed a draft of its Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment. A copy of the report can be found here.
They very much welcome your views on the draft Westminster Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment. Please send your thoughts and comments to [email protected] by 5pm on Friday 19th December 2014.
The Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment is a technical document which provides an assessment of the services provided by pharmacies within the local area and how these relate to local need. The purpose of the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment is twofold. Firstly, it is a market entry tool to guide decision making by NHS England on applications for new pharmacies or changes to pharmacy premises. Secondly, it is a commissioning tool to guide the local commissioning of pharmacy services.
