To support the implementation of the North West London Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP), the eight CCGs involved in delivery of the STP have come together to form the North West London Collaboration of Clinical Commissioning Groups (NW London CCGs).
The NW London CCGs will jointly make decisions about some health services provided at a local level. The NW London CCGs set out a proposed governance structure to enable these decisions to made and presented it to each of the local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Board meetings in November 2017.
As a local Healthwatch we had concerns about how local people will be able to continue to play an active role in shaping health and care services available to them in their local area. We also had concerns about how clear lines of accountability were within the governance structure and whether local people would be able to challenge and influence decisions that affect health and care provision available to them.
We set out our concerns in a paper which we sent to Hammersmith & Fulham CCG; Central London CCG; and West London CCG, and in which we raised a number of questions for the NW London CCGs. We are currently waiting for their response.
