Our work on the NHS Equality Delivery System (EDS)
HWCWL is working with Central North West London NHS on the NHS Equality Delivery System (EDS), using our expertise to focus on how the NHS is collecting the views of patients attending local services.
For this project, are particularly focusing on patient access, and the standard of care. We are beginning to carry out engagement this month, collecting feedback from patients the using NHS England Equality Delivery System’s grading standards.
The Equality Delivery System (for the NHS was produced to the NHS in June 2011. It was Formally launched on November 2011. It was originally developed by the NHS, before being commissioned and revised by the Equality and Diversity Council (EDC).
The main purpose of the Equality Delivery System is to help organisations, in dialogue with local partners, to review and improve their performance for people with protected characteristics by Equality Act 2010. It is also a way for NHS organisations to follow the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED).
