New Cafe Table Scheme For Carers Visiting Hospitals
This new project aims to bring together unpaid carers who are visiting or looking after their loved ones in hospital.
Charing Cross Hospital and Royal Brompton Hospital are the first hospitals to participate.
The project was founded by one of our service users, Caroline Aldiss.
Those sitting at these Carers Cuppa tables will know that they are in a designated support area for unpaid carers where they can sit, talk, take a break, have refreshments and meet others in a similar position; whilst also having access to Carers Network Volunteers.
Please note: Royal Brompton Hospital will, in the first instance, hold times for these carers cuppa get-togethers at the specific times below until the hospital provides a permanent table for the project.
- The table at Royal Brompton Hospital will be manned on Wednesday 20 November from 2-4pm and Wednesday 4 December from 2- 4pm
More dates to follow soon.
The Carers Cuppa tables are based at the following locations:
- Charing Cross Hospital-the restaurant on floor two, in the right-hand corner
- Royal Brompton Hospital- Sydney Wing Restaurant, level one (basement level)
Carers Network is currently looking for Carers Cuppa Volunteers to help man the table.
We offer training and support, travel expenses, lunch expenses up to £5 and a work reference.
