Researchers from the University of Kent are designing a training programme about physical activity for social prescribers in Bexley, Islington and Kensington & Chelsea.
What is social prescribing?
Social prescribing involves helping patients to improve their health, wellbeing and social welfare by connecting them to community services that might be run by the council or a local charity. For example, signposting people who have been diagnosed with dementia to local support groups or to volunteering and physical activity projects.
They need your help!
In order to make sure that they are capturing people’s experiences in the training, they are looking for three people from the London area with experience of long-term conditions/disabilities to advise us on the development of the training.
