Last night’s training session on ‘Mental Health Act and Mental Health Capacity Act, Detention’ drew to a close a series of three training events laid on by Aliki, the Dignity Champions Officer at Healthwatch CWL for her volunteers. Aliki has a wealth of experience in the health and social care sector and is herself an active member of the Local Committee in Kensington so could not be better placed to lead the training.
Although not a compulsory training session for the Dignity Champions, the ‘Mental Health Act and Mental Health Capacity Act, Detention’ proved to be extremely popular amongst attendees. The prestigious training offers a window into the intricate workings of current law in England and Wales in this area and is a new addition to our catalogue of training opportunities. Each attendee received a certificate of attendance for the session and it is safe to assume that this new knowledge will serve them well in their endeavours as Dignity Champions.
Training opportunities like these are free and open to everyone, as long as you are a member of Healthwatch CWL. More information on becoming a member can be found here.
