Work with young people in 2014/2015
Following on from our work with young people around sexual health services we have continued to work with young people to give feedback on the services they use.
School Nursing Services
As a result of our previous work with young people we identified school nursing as a key area where young people would like to see additional support around issues such as sex and relationship education and emotional support. We set out to explore this further by researching what young people would like from a school nursing service. Click here to read the full report.
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services
We have been speaking to young people about their experiences of mental health services, click here to read the report.
Healthwatch CWL is contributing to the work of a Tri-Borough Childhood Obesity task and finish group, this group is looking at improving services and making it easier to access them, watch this space for more information.
Young Peoples Event
Healthwatch is organizing an event for young people to come and have their say about the health services they use, the event will be at the end of March and everyone who attends will receive a £10 voucher. We will have more information soon, but if you would like to register an interest in attending.
Past work with young people
Following on from ‘The Den,’ the winning team – ‘Lighthunters Lab 2′ have been working on their project which is evolving into a creative, engaging venture for young people. They are exploring ways of highlighting young people’s views and concerns on a variety of issues directly related to their social realities, sharing these with the wider local community in the form of print and photography.

What are the big issues for young people in K&C?
The photos below were taken by young people between the ages of 12 and 17 who perform a significant caring role for a family member at home. After brainstorming with the group we decided to undertake this photography project entitled, ‘In Our Space’ for K&C LINk’s (before we were Healthwatch we were called LINk), ‘R U in the Picture’.
