Meet your trustees:
CHAIR: Ms Christine Vigars (Kensington and Chelsea) is chair of Healthwatch Central West London, a dignity champion and also a trustee of Age UK Kensington and Chelsea. Christine was a Healthwatch England Committee member, is a former chair of Age UK Kensington and Chelsea and also of the K&C Local Involvement Network (LINk). In previous years, Christine was an active governor at a local primary school, read with pupils at Holland Park school and was a trustee for Al-Hasiniya. With a background in social work and social work teaching at South Bank University and the Open University, Christine has also worked in community care development in the voluntary sector.
Mr Abdul Towolawi (Kensington and Chelsea) Abdul was co-opted to the Board in May 2015. Fatai Towolawi, popularly known as Abdul, joined the third sector in 1992 as a Project Worker in a small West London charity. He moved on to manage an older people’s day centre for a number of years. He also managed a community centre before joining a south London charity as Fundraising Manager. In 2005, he moved to manage the largest neighbourhood partnership in Camden. He currently works as an independent Fundraising Consultant supporting small and large charities across London. He became a member of the Institute of Fundraising in 2005 after successfully completing the Institute of Fundraising Certificate programme. He successfully completed the Cass Business School-City University PgDip/MSc programme in Fundraising & Marketing. Abdul is a current member of the K&C Local Committee, having previously been an active committee member of the Kensington and Chelsea Local Involvement Network [LINk] and serving on the boards of various large and medium sized charities including as Chair and Treasurer.
Mr Brian Dillon (Finance lead) is a qualified accountant and has over 40 years experience of working in public and voluntary sector finance. In September 2013 and after 14 years, he retired as Chair of a community housing association. He brings extensive experience of strategic finance, business planning, risk management and governance to our Board.
Mr Keith Andrew Mallinson (Hammersmith and Fulham) – Keith was appointed to the Board in July 2015.
Hestia Housing and Support (Hestia) is the parent charity to Healthwatch Central West London and as such the Company member of the Organisation. Hestia, as the company member, has appointed the following representative below to our Board:
Ms Joanna Mark-Richards (Hestia company representative and HR lead) Joanna is a hugely experienced Director of Human Resources.
The Board of Trustees is informed by the work and recommendations of the three borough based Local Committees and the staff team.
